New Website for Exit 190 Community
Today we launched our new website. Since 2014 our community has fought hard to retain 4 entry/exits on the Bruce highway. We were successful in retaining one southbound exit 190, with the other northbound exit being relocated further south (now exit 188). The other 2 entry points onto the Bruce Highway have been relocated north & south of exit 190. With the C2SM development nearing completion, it is time to focus on the businesses who utilise exit 190 and rely on business travel on the Bruce Highway. With this in mind our new Business Directory will list and feature all businesses in the area and will be free to list. Those businesses outside of the area are welcome to advertise (for an annual fee). To list your business click this link: https://www.exit190.com/register-to-submit-your-items/

Why we wanted Exit 190 to remain open
There were 3 main reasons why we started this community. 1. Emergency vehicles response times, 2. Exit 190 is a vital link, 3. Loss of customers & revenue to local small business

Temporary closure of Pignata Road underpass
As part of the Bruce Highway Upgrade – Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway (CR2SM), significant works are required under the Bruce Highway bridges between Pignata and Frizzo roads in Palmview (also known as the Pignata Road underpass). A temporary road closure is required at the underpass so that extensive drainage and excavation works can be undertaken safely and efficiently. Excavators will dig approximately three metres below the existing road under the highway. The project team investigated a number of options to construct the new underpass including a staged approach under a single lane operation or alternatively, a full underpass closure. A full closure of the Pignata Road underpass was the preferred option as it will reduce the period of time that works are likely to impact the nearby community and motorists by up to two months, while also ensuring safety is maintained. Works are expected to begin in the week commencing 19 July 2020 and take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete, construction and weather conditions permitting Working hours Both day and night works will be required to complete these works. The project’s working hours are: • Night works: Sunday to Thursday, 7pm to 5am • Day works: Monday […]

Crews will also be working on local roads adjacent to the highway, near Greenhaven Drive, Palmview and Glenview Road, Glenview. Nearby residents can expect increased construction noise and light with the use of heavy machinery during active night work hours.
