We have been travelling along this road for years and always stop off at these stores. The turn off and small collection of eclectic and significant tourist stores should be supported and preserved. Access should be upgraded.
Unbelievable that they cannot keep EXIT 190 for safety reasons when similar ramps at the BP sites south of here are working OK, Nothing is impossible ! A way must be found to keep this Exit & if TMR cannot work it out maybe it is time for for someone else to advise them how it can be done & maintain safety for all !!
It is hard to believe that the Main Roads Dept. still want to make entry to a major tourist attraction on the Sunshine Coast so difficult. There are on and off ramps to four service stations and a major shopping centre between here and Brisbane so a precedent has already been set. Would Main Roads think differently if BP and Macdonalds were involved?
Govt. Depts. should remember they are there for us not the other way around.
The excuse to remove the exits for safety reasons is just an excuse to not spend the necessary money to make them safe. It can be done safely with longer merging lanes. Would be interested to know if TMR has considered this and whether they have made any comments on this option.
We use these services regularly so it’s complete madness to close the ramps. Please keep them open and serviceable.

Didnt they just spend a fortune extending the north bound on ramp to make it safer? And now they are gonna close it? Madness!
