Over 70 people attended a supporter’s rally to voice their concerns over the planned closure of Exit 190 on the Bruce Highway, by the Qld. State Government. Despite the rain, organisers were pleased with the turn out.
“This shows the amount of dissatisfaction of the plan to close our exits, when residents and business owners are prepared to show their support on a rainy day. Just imagine how many more would have turned out on a clear, sunny day and not during business hours,” said founder of Save Exit 190 group Mike Doroshenko.
There were plenty of signs and enthusiasm from the crowd, including Mark McArdle MP who addressed the crowd.
The next step is to have a meeting with Qld. Transport & Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey MP, and have a community forum where everyone can voice their concerns directly. Hopefully we can then achieve a suitable outcome for all residents and business owners who will be effected by the planned closure of Exit 190.
