About 80 people turned up to the Bruce Highway and Caloundra Interchange Upgrades Forum held this morning at the CCSA Hall. State Member for Caloundra Mark McArdle introduced senior members of the Department of Transport & Main Roads and the crowd saw a PowerPoint presentation delivered by TMR Project Manager Gavin Soward. We were updated on the process so far and unlike other community meetings, this forum had plenty of questions back and forth from our invited guests after the presentation.
Our forum also discussed all sections of the Bruce Highway Upgrades, between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway, not just Exit 190.
“It really was one of our last opportunities to let TMR know how we feel about the Bruce Highway Upgrade,” said Mike Doroshenko of the Save Exit 190 Group.
We would like to thank Mark McArdle MP and his staff for organising the event (not to mention the yummy scones that were on offer), and we would also like to thank TMR for their informative presentation.
The Save Exit 190 Group would also like to thank everyone who made a submission to TMR about keeping our on/off ramps open. We value your support.
We understand that there is a process now until mid March 2016, where the tender companies will finalise their submissions and hopefully we will know soon after, if our campaign has been successful. Fingers crossed!
